What You’ll Do:
As a Construction Senior Project Manager , based out of our Canton, GA headquarters, for our Retail Division , you’ll take ownership of complex commercial remodels, buildouts, and ground-up projects from pre-construction through closeout. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, guide financial performance, manage stakeholder relationships, and deliver projects that meet or exceed expectations—on schedule, on budget, and with precision.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:

Project Planning, Scheduling, and Execution:
- Oversee projects from initiation through closeout, following PSI’s Proven Process
- Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, and allocate resources
- Oversee procurement and ensure closeout requirements are met
- Collaborate with pre-construction team to ensure scope is accurately identified and project risks are properly documented
- Utilize project management tools such as MS Project, Procore, Fieldwire, Building Connected
- Assess and make data-driven decisions quickly
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Own the project budget from pre-construction to project closeout
- Create, track, and manage budgets while adhering to financial constraints
- Manage estimates, cost controls, change orders, billing, cash flow, and gross margin performance
- Implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality
- Prepare, present, and defend financial reports
- Proficient in PSI’s financial systems (Acumatica JobView, Velixo)
Labor Management, Timekeeping, and Performance:
- Align workforce levels with project needs and track labor timekeeping efficiently
- Oversee daily reporting and ensure accuracy
- Coach and audit Superintendents and Foremen on performance expectations
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback
Risk Management:
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to prevent delays and financial losses
- Maintain familiarity with contract requirements to reduce liabilities and hold all parties accountable to the terms of the contract
- Develop contingency plans for potential budget overruns or schedule delays
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Present financial and project updates to stakeholders
- Draft contracts, proposals, and progress reports
- Conduct progress meetings to ensure alignment
Construction Knowledge and Materials:
- Apply technical construction knowledge to sequencing, supplier coordination, and material sourcing
- Oversee supplier negotiations and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
- Familiar with construction-specific software for estimation and budgeting
Safety and Quality Control:
- Promote a proactive safety culture, enforce OSHA compliance, and ensure weekly safety talks are conducted
- Lead quality assurance efforts through audits, inspections, and adherence to PSI standards
Attention to Detail:
- Monitor all project aspects for quality, safety, financial alignment, and promptly report out on any anomalies
- Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Track and document expenses, contracts, and compliance metrics with precision
Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Negotiate contracts with contractors, suppliers, and clients
- Draft, review, and manage contracts while ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget requirements of the job
- Handle dispute resolutions to minimize financial and legal exposure
Organizational Skills:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with financial accountability
- Implement systems for tracking progress, costs, and resources
- Maintain comprehensive project and financial documentation
Adaptability and Flexibility:
- Adjust project plans and budgets to accommodate changing conditions and scope of work
- Renegotiate contracts and reallocate resources as necessary
- Stay informed on evolving industry practices and construction trends

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Project financial performance: gross margin attainment and cost control.
- Schedule adherence: projects delivered on time or ahead.
- Client satisfaction: measured by repeat business and positive feedback.
- Safety compliance: zero OSHA violations, proactive safety culture.
- Quality control: minimal punch list items and warranty claims.
- Process adherence: accuracy of reporting, documentation, and system use.
- Project closeout: timely closeout and accurate final financials.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience managing full lifecycle commercial construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client communication
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift, carry, and position objects up to 15 pounds
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Success managing retail construction programs, leading a combination of teams and projects concurrently.
- Strong knowledge of full-scope construction workflows, scheduling, and coordination
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Fieldwire)
- Familiarity with PSI’s financial systems (Acumatica JobView, Velixo)
- Experience in estimating, subcontractor negotiations, and quantity take-offs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
