Service Manager – Commercial Food Equipment Service

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to support daily branch operations and lead a team of highly skilled Field Service Technicians . This role combines technical expertise, team leadership, customer engagement, and operational oversight to drive service excellence and business performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, coaching abilities, and a customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Branch & Team Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day support to the District Manager in managing branch operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Field Service Technicians.
  • Support onboarding, training, and ongoing skill development of technicians in both technical and customer service competencies.
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure high levels of productivity, quality, and service.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and procedures.

Customer Service & Technical Support

  • Act as a resource for customer escalations and complex service needs.
  • Maintain and grow strong customer relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Assist with service planning, preventive maintenance programs, and equipment installations.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and field training as needed.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Assist in managing branch operations including labor, expenses, and service revenue.
  • Review financial performance indicators such as labor cost, margins, and productivity.
  • Implement strategies to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the service vehicle fleet, ensuring regular maintenance and readiness.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience including supervision, OR Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in managing direct customer interactions and service delivery.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet performance goals.

Preferred:

  • 5–7 years of experience in a field service role.
  • Prior experience managing service operations or teams.
  • Working knowledge of branch operating systems and productivity tools.
  • Understanding of financial principles (e.g., margins, markups, labor control).
  • CRM or sales support experience.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent leadership experience.
