Job Description

A fast-growing and design-forward general contractor based in Chicago is seeking a Project Manager to join their team. Known for their high-quality work in urban infill, hospitality, creative office, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use development, this firm thrives on collaboration, modern construction practices, and hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget targets are met
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
• Coordinate internal and external project teams, ensuring alignment at every phase
• Oversee project documentation, change orders, schedules, and subcontractor scope and performance
• Attend and lead progress meetings, both internal and with clients and stakeholders
• Maintain project financials, tracking costs, forecasts, and billing
• Foster a positive, transparent, and proactive jobsite culture

Ideal Background:

• 5–10 years of experience in project management with a commercial general contractor
• Proven track record managing urban and mid-rise projects in sectors like hospitality, mixed-use, or adaptive reuse
• Strong ability to manage design-build relationships and navigate city permitting and logistical challenges
• Familiarity with Procore, MS Project, and standard project controls
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
