Job Description

PharmaCann, Inc. owns and operates best-in-class production facilities and retail dispensaries for cannabis-based products. We currently operate in the States of Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Michigan as a medical and/or adult use cannabis provider to patients and customers. Purpose

The Manager of Manufacturing - Night Shift oversees Cultivation, Post Harvest, and Post Post Production operations at the Hamptonburgh, NY facility during the night shift, ensuring efficient workflows, staff development, and adherence to standard operating procedures. This role is responsible for optimizing equipment use, maintaining compliance, and driving high-quality, high-yield production across all cultivation departments.

The Manager of Manufacturing must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and professionalism while managing staff and achieving daily and weekly production goals. Additionally, this position supports operational improvements through analytics, technology, and equipment advancements. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Production and the Senior Manager of Post-Harvest, this role oversees multiple cultivation departments during the night shift.

Pay for this role is $65,000 / year

Essential Duties

Leadership Procedures & Tasks

  • Oversee and manage Cultivation Facility during the night shift at the Hamptonburgh, NY facility.
  • Support department leaders in achieving daily and weekly objectives by coordinating staff development, improving efficiencies, and resolving issues related to plants, equipment, room conditions, and personnel.
  • Analyze department performance using data to identify trends, set goals, and implement process improvements in collaboration with relevant department leaders.
  • Work closely with teams including Analytics, Processing, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Safety, Security.
  • Support the Senior Managers of Production, Post Harvest, and Processing, with manufacturing projects, ensuring results are achieved within budget and deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain GMP/GAP protocols in partnership with Quality Assurance leadership.
  • Lead updates to practices and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage staff planning, scheduling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Oversee employee training, annual reviews, and engagement initiatives to maintain a positive work environment and strong morale.
  • Manage inventory systems to ensure compliance and organization.
  • Train staff in system usage, including NAV and Google Spreadsheets, to maintain accurate reporting.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager of Cultivation.

Training Requirements

  • This position is expected to be knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the cultivation process. The role is expected to engage in proactive participation to be able to clearly lead and direct the cultivation facilities to achieve the high standard cultivation practices, consistently and compliant.

  • Understanding how to compliantly operate within the cultivation based on the state laws and regulations.

Workspace and Material Maintenance

  • Ensure cultivation rooms and water systems operate efficiently, coordinating with relevant departments and contractors for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.
  • Oversee the upkeep of automated machinery by implementing training, participation, and accountability measures.
  • Communicate and report dried flower concerns to the Senior Manager of Post-Harvest, ensuring proper organization and analysis.
  • Identify and address room environmental concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and well-maintained work environment by training and directing staff on best practices.
  • Manage procurement of supplies and equipment for cultivation departments, coordinating with the Supply Chain Department for essential replenishments.
  • Oversee sanitization, organization, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal workflow and facility efficiency.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Facilities, Safety, Compliance, Quality Assurance, and IT to resolve equipment, technology, and operational issues that may disrupt workflows.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure Cultivation Facility staff uphold current laws and regulations, adapting to updates to maintain safe and efficient practices that meet quality standards.
  • Lead staff training and supervision to ensure compliance with facility standards. Manage and guide staff in maintaining compliant practices and workflows, addressing and resolving any compliance or safety issues promptly.
  • Communicate with leadership to address and resolve compliance or safety errors as needed.
  • Oversee the communication and collaboration of night shift employees with supporting departments, such as Analytics, Post-Harvest, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance, to ensure proper reporting, tracking, and regulatory compliance across all operations.

Supervision

  • Report directly to the General Manager of Cultivation.
  • Supervise and manage night shift employees.
  • Oversee staff functions including hiring, training, assigning tasks, appraising performance, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.
  • Ensure individual and team performance aligns with PharmaCann’s standards for service and quality.
  • Manage attendance, time-off requests, position changes, and other related documentation processes.

Job Requirement

  • This position is expected to oversee the night operations across the Production and Processing Departments for the facility to perform duties at a highly productive and efficient pace, consistently.
  • This position is expected to be available as needed to adhere to the responsibilities within and throughout the job description.
  • Must be eligible for the position based on state and federal laws and regulations.

Working Conditions

  • Able to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to move about a typical office, manufacturing and warehouse environment. Conditions in cultivation can be under lights in hot areas, working with chemicals and fertilizers, while working with safety equipment.
  • Able to kneel, bend, reach, rotate, and stoop on an intermittent to regular basis daily.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Consistent on-time attendance for all scheduled shifts. Prepared for over 40+ hour work weeks within this position, regularly.
  • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.

Job Qualifications

Work Experience

  • Preferred at least 2 years experience in a commercial cannabis operation.
  • Preferred at least 4+ years of prior leadership experience to apply.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment required. Experience managing over 20+ employees is preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently exceed productivity and performance requirements. Shows the capability to handle multiple tasks at once under tight deadlines. Capability to deliver and lead an entire cultivation facility to achieve highly productive results in all departments.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail and the ability to resolve conflict and complex issues.
  • Demonstrates professional and respectful demeanor towards others. Demonstrates respectful verbal and written communication capability.
  • Ability to create, utilize, and modify electronic documents. Advanced electronic and technical skills preferred.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing and/or Agricultural management experience, training, and education preferred.
