Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer to join our dynamic team. Candidate role will be critical in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance Java-based applications, ensuring alignment with business needs and technological advancements. Candidate will lead technical efforts, mentor junior developers, and drive innovative solutions to meet evolving challenges in our fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with the law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $120K to $130K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of Java applications, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Develop and deploy microservices architecture using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Implement event-driven solutions utilizing Kafka for real-time data processing.
  • Design and optimize database schemas with MongoDB.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and QA, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Maintain documentation for technical solutions and system architecture.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of overall professional experience in software development.
  • Strong expertise in Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Extensive experience in Microservices architecture and Spring Boot framework.
  • Proficiency with messaging queues, especially Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience working with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into resilient solutions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (Angular, React) is a plus.
  • Past experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Certifications in Java, Spring, or cloud technologies.
