About the Role: Ashland Springs Hotel Lark's Restaurant Seasonal / Part-Time Dishwasher

The Seasonal Dishwasher could become Part-Time the position plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas at Ashland Springs Hotel located in downtown Ashland. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, contributing to the overall dining experience for our guests. By adhering to health and safety standards, the Dishwasher helps prevent contamination and promotes a safe working environment. Additionally, this role supports the kitchen staff by providing them with the necessary tools and equipment to prepare and serve meals efficiently. Ultimately, the Dishwasher's efforts are vital in upholding the hotel's reputation for quality service and cleanliness. Must have a Food Handlers Permit.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
  • Experience in a food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and hand-washing techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed.
  • Assist in the proper disposal of waste and recycling materials to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Support kitchen staff by ensuring that clean dishes and utensils are readily available for food preparation and service.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

Skills:

The required skills for this position are essential for ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen. Basic reading skills are necessary to understand cleaning instructions and safety guidelines. The ability to lift and carry heavy items is crucial for moving large pots, pans, and stacks of dishes. Standing for extended periods is a regular part of the job, as dishwashing can be physically demanding. Additionally, following instructions and maintaining regular attendance are vital for team coordination and ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly.
