Job Description:
Project Management
- Oversee all phases of the radio and DAS installation project in subway tunnels and above-ground tower sites, from planning and design coordination to execution and closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Scheduling and Planning
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating labor, equipment, and materials for efficient installation of antennas, cabling, Bi-Directional Amplifiers, and related P-25 radio infrastructure in transit tunnel environments and above ground tower sites.
Technical Coordination
- Collaborate with telecommunications engineers, electrical contractors, MBTA staff and their designees, and system integrators to ensure seamless integration of radio and DAS infrastructure with existing subway systems and above ground tower sites.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all installations meet design specifications, industry standards (e.g., FCC, NFPA, FTA), and MBTA requirements, including signal coverage, system reliability, and system safety compliance in tunnels and tower sites.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks specific to subway construction, such as confined space hazards, tunnel access restrictions, dynamic envelope, and coordination with active transit operations.

Team Leadership
- Supervise and motivate project teams, including electrical subcontractors, technicians, and laborers, fostering a safe and collaborative work environment in challenging underground conditions.
Compliance and Safety
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations, transit-specific safety protocols, and confined space entry requirements to ensure a safe work environment in subway tunnels.
- Ensure work in place does not pose a hazard to the passengers on the system.
Stakeholder Communication
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management, transit authority and their designees, addressing technical challenges, system performance, and project milestones.
- Attend in in person construction coordination meetings at the project office.
- Collaboration with the owner's representatives is paramount to the success of the project.
Contract Administration
- Ensure subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and vendors remain in compliance with project schedule and specifications for installation of radio and DAS components.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in direct management of construction field operations, with at least 5 years focused on transit infrastructure, preferably involving radio systems or DAS.
- Proven experience managing projects in underground or confined space environments, such as subway tunnels or similar transit facilities.
- Familiarity with transit regulations, standards (e.g., MBTA, FTA, NFPA 130), and processes for subway projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage diverse teams and coordinate with transit authorities and their designees.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, operationally sensitive environments with strict deadlines.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, or RCDD) are a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to urban project sites, including underground facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate subway tunnels and tower sites, including confined spaces, walking , climbing, and working in low-light or uneven conditions.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and ability to wear personal protective equipment (Composite toe boots, safety glasses, hardhat, reflective vest)
