Job Description

We are currently hiring for  Barista/Support Staff for Le Crocodile this includes a  non-negotiable Wednesday and Saturday/Sunday AM availability. All Le Crocodile Baristas cross-train as support staff to assist in the kitchen and on the floor -- this also allows the opportunity to pick-up more shifts as desired. Barista is the back-bone of our busy breakfast and brunch services to ensure the quality of our coffee is excellent for AM service.  Our support staff is warm, knowledgeable, proficient, and capable. Support is the unsung hero of the restaurant, a bridge between Front and Back of house, and a pillar of delivering consistent and fluid service. 

Scope of Work:

• Must have experience dialing in espresso grinder
• Must have high level milk-steaming and latte art technique
• Making espresso based drinks on our espresso machine
• Setting tables with clean linens, polished silverware, and spotless glassware. 
• Marking tables between courses with the appropriate table ware, steak knives, oyster forks, dessert spoons etc…Marking tables with bread and butter when necessary.
• Clearing tables at the appropriate time and in the correct manner. 
• Running food, knowing and articulating the proper drop lines for every dish. Menu knowledge and allergy knowledge is expected.
• Floor knowledge, knowing table numbers and positions fluently. 
• Side-work including but not limited to: polishing silverware and glassware, cutting bread, portioning butter, attending to the coffee and sauce station, sweeping, mopping, spot detailing.
• Stocking server stations, and the coffee station with doilies, plate wipes, printer paper, printer ink, sugar caddies, plates, coffee cups etc…
• Training on and working room service for the hotel

Responsibilities:

• Greeting all guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
• Assisting the server in your section. 
• Communication and openness to active problem solving. 
• Close attention to detail, cleanliness etc…
• Close attention to the state of our guests, if they seem to be finished, if they require a server, if they require water, if they require assistance with anything, if they are uncomfortable for some reason. 
• Communication with the kitchen and Chef. Our support team is crucial in the pacing of the Expeditor, constant feedback is necessary to ensure timing is correct with kitchen fires.
• Positivity and a desire to have fun and do a good job.
